DESERT STAR (4) finished second at Geelong two runs back but didn't measure up last time over 7f at Ballarat, finishing 2.75 lengths back in sixth after being in the firing line on the corner. Will enjoy a drop in class so he is likely to play a big role. RAVEN'S SILVER (6) has been in the market at his last couple of starts but hasn't made an impression, last start finishing eighth over 7f at Ballarat. Open to improvement and is among the chances. HOUSO (1) knuckled down strongly to get within a nose of the winner in second last start over 6f at this track. Tough to stop again. MISSY SPIKE (10) settled well back last time out then found the line strongly to finish 5 lengths away in fourth over 7f at Gundagai. Has ability and a bold showing is expected.
