MARIOTA (3) missed the frame when resuming last start over 7f155yards at Geelong but wasn't all that far from the winner. Backmarker who keeps coming. Will prove hard to hold out. GRAND SAGE (2) pushed forward and went on to record a determined win last start by 2.25 lengths over 1m at Stony Creek. Needs to be at his best to beat this field but he is good enough to play a major role. GRACIOUS DIVA (6) gave away a considerable start over 1m at Moe last time before hitting the line well to finish fifth. Must be included. CORBULO (1) returned from a lay-off three weeks ago when he was in contention on the corner before being beaten 4 lengths into eighth over 7½f at Caulfield Heath. Fitter so expect a better run this time.
