NEARA REWARD (10) started at 6/1 last time and ran below expectations, finishing ninth and beaten 4.5 lengths at Gatton over 5½f. Well placed and there is no reason he cannot find winning ways. SLY CORNER (2) returns after a lay-off of seven months. Started the last campaign impressively when in the placings over 5f at Toowoomba. One of the genuine hopes in the race. CLAUDIUS (13) got a long way back when 3.5 lengths from the winner in eighth over 6¾f at Ipswich last start, a less impressive effort than his fourth at Sunshine Coast the run before. Has the class to produce a better result. DUSKY DANCER (5) finished third last time over 5¼f at Gold Coast Poly when resuming from a lay-off, beaten 2.5 lengths. Beautifully placed and is sure to be there at the finish.
