VAIN LUKE (13) failed to figure again last time over 1m4 1/4f at Beaudesert, beaten 11 lengths into fifth. Backmarker who keeps coming. Leading contender. VIADELAMORE (1) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when fifth, beaten 5 lengths, over 1m1f at Eagle Farm. Has a solid record at the third run in and can turn things around. SEA TREASURES (2) finished 6 lengths adrift in sixth last time at Eagle Farm after being in the firing line on the bend in a disappointing performance. Finds the right race this time and can get the job done. THE WELLIAN (6) closed off strongly last start to get up for third, beaten 0.9 lengths, over 1m2f at Gold Coast Poly. Settles back early but winds up late. Not to be discounted.
