Galatasaray vs Bayern Munich tips and predictions: Turkish giants could surprise German titans

The Turkish champions are second in Group A, with 4 points after two games while the German giants, despite not playing their best, control the group with maximum points.

Galatasaray started the group stage with a 2-2 at home against Copenhagen. It took a red card for the Danish team for the Red and Yellow to rescue a draw, with goal scored in the 86 and 88 minutes.

Then the team from Istanbul produced a shock at Old Trafford with a 3-2 win, with the winning goal scored by Mauro Icardi in the 83rd minute. Another red card, this time for Manchester United's Casemiro, help the Turkish side.

Meanwhile, Bayern were part of the best match of the Champions League so far with a 4-3 home win against Manchester United.

Then the German champions managed a hard earned win, 2-1 at Copenhagen, coming from behind, thanks to another late goal this time from Mathys Tel in the 83rd minute.

Okan Buruk's Galatasaray managed a morale-boosting 2-1 win over bitter rivals Besiktas at the weekend, in a game where once again their opponents saw a red card.

They are unbeaten in the league with 25 points from a possible 27, and have six consecutive wins across all competitions.

 

 

Galatasaray are not a team who struggle to find the back of the net, the last time they failed to score was in an away league match with Kayserispor in early August which ended 0-0. They have also not lost in their last four home Champions League matches this campaign.

Icardi, who managed a double in the last game against Besiktas, has 10 goals in the Turkish Superlig. This season he also scored four times in the Champions League too. The hot streak could continue against the Germans. 

Bayern managed another win last weekend, 3-1 at Mainz, and are third in the Bundesliga, just two points off leaders Leverkusen. They have also scored 26 goals in eight rounds of Bundesliga football.

Harry Kane has made a good start to life in Bavaria with nine goals in the league this season, and one in the Champions League. He's the tip of the spear in this Munich side, expect him to cash in again.

There will be goals in this game but it will be a shock if the Turkish side can pull off another Champions League upset.

However, a high-scoring draw could be the way to go as the Rams Global Stadium is a tricky trip to make.
