France boss Didier Deschamps among favourites for Tottenham job after major career announcement

European Championship, France - Germany, preliminary round, Group F, 1st matchday in the EM-Arena Munich. Coach Didier Deschamps

France boss Didier Deschamps has become one of the main contenders to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham, after announcing he would be leaving his national coach role in the near future.

The 56-year-old saw his price slashed after announcing he will step down from the French national side after the 2026 World Cup.

Graham Potter was one of the other leading contenders for the Spurs role, however the former Chelsea boss has just landed the West Ham job following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.

Deschamps is currently priced at 8/1 alongside current Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna.

The Frenchman has spent the last 13 years with his national side, leading them to a World Cup win in 2018, a World Cup final in 2022 and a European Championship final in 2016.

Deschamps previously worked for Monaco, Juventus and Marseille, winning eight trophies in the process.

As things stand, former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic is the favourite for the Spurs post having been priced at 10/3 by the bookies.

The likes of Andoni Iraola and Gareth Southgate are also in consideration, if Postecoglou gets the bullet.
