Everton next manager: David Moyes now favourite as bookies panic after Sean Dyche sack
Former Everton boss David Moyes is now the hot favourite to take the helm at Everton after Sean Dyche was sacked by the club's new owners on Thursday afternoon.
After less than two years in charge at Goodison Park, Sean Dyche was sacked by Everton this Thursday afternoon.
Jose Mourinho had been installed as the odds-on favourite for the job this morning, but after the news that Dyche had been sacked broke bookies scrambled to slash the odds on Moyes.
The former West Ham boss is now the 2/5 favourite with several bookies, while Mourinho has drifted to 3/1.
Lee Carsley is third favourite at 8/1, with Brentford's Thomas Frank at 9/1. Paulo Fonseca has also entered the running at 12/1, with recently sacked Luton manager Rob Edwards at 16/1.
Everton are in FA Cup action this evening, and Everton's U18 coach Leighton Baines and current captain Seamus Coleman will take charge of first-team duties against Peterborough.
'Everton Football Club can confirm that Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties as Senior Men’s First Team Manager with immediate effect," Everton said in a statement.
'Ian Woan, Steve Stone, Mark Howard and Billy Mercer have also left the Club.
'The process to appoint a new Manager is underway and an update will be provided in due course."
(all odds are correct as of article's latest update)
