Who will win the 2025 FA Cup? Free tips, odds and predictions
The 2024/25 season marks the 144th edition of the FA Cup – one which will be of great importance to a number of top Premier League clubs.
Of all the competitions on the calendar, the FA Cup has been somewhat diminished in terms of importance over the years.
Premier League and European competitions are firmly top of the agenda for a lot of the big hitters, while domestic cups are nothing more than desert in a three-course meal.
This season, however, things are slightly different. A lot of the so-called big clubs are in desperate need of silverware – even at the domestic cup level. Others, meanwhile, are looking to end long trophy droughts.
Here, we take a look at the top contenders to win the 2024/25 FA Cup.
FA Cup odds
Man City – 7/2
Liverpool – 5/1
Arsenal – 7/1
Chelsea – 7/1
Tottenham – 10/1
Newcastle 12/1
Man Utd – 14/1

Man City
Pep Guardiola is responsible for the vast majority of silverware in Man City’s cabinet. That is true, except when it comes to the FA Cup.
Out of the club’s seven FA Cup wins, just two of them have come under the stewardship of the Spaniard.
The reason for that is simple. Guardiola always had bigger fish to fry, making this competition nothing more than a bit of a bonus.
However, with the Citizens seemingly out of the Premier League title race, out of the EFL Cup and struggling in the Champions League, the FA Cup could offer them a reprieve.
As the season goes on, the FA Cup could become Man City’s only source of potential silverware. With that in mind, it’s no surprise to see the Citizens backed so favourably by the bookies. Could you really imagine Guardiola go the entire season without a trophy?
Liverpool
Liverpool are flying under Arne Slot this season, but surely the Reds will have to start prioritising competitions as the campaign goes on.
The Premier League and Champions League leaders are on the hunt for serious silverware, meaning it’s only a matter of time before Slot begins to rest players in domestic cup games.
Liverpool have won eight FA Cups in their history, last winning the trophy in 2022 against Chelsea. With that in mind, their appetite for another FA Cup title challenge might not be there.
Arsenal
As the most successful team in FA Cup history – with 14 wins and 21 final appearances to their name – Arsenal fans might not be that excited by the prospect of another successful run in the oldest cup competition.
However, with the Gunners losing ground on leaders Liverpool in the Premier League, it is possible that the FA Cup could become their sole realistic hope of winning a trophy this season.
Mikel Arteta has already won this competition with the club five years ago and the Spaniard may have to challenge for it once again should his men fail to make a dent in the league or Europe.
Chelsea
Chelsea have showed significant improvements under Enzo Maresca and a trophy would underline their upward trajectory.
While winning the Premier League still looks out of their reach, going all the way in the FA Cup is certainly a realistic ambition.
Expect Chelsea to give this year’s competition a proper go as Maresca attempts to bag his first trophy with the Blues.
Tottenham
With Tottenham in the midst of a 17-year trophyless run, an FA Cup win is the proverbial wet dream for Spurs supporters.
Ange Postecoglou vowed to challenge for silverware this season and a domestic cup run is certainly his best bet of delivering that ambition.
While Spurs have more defensive leaks than the Titanic, they will be ones to watch in the FA Cup this season.
Newcastle
Take Tottenham’s 17-year trophyless run, times it by four and you’ll still be two years short of Newcastle’s last trophy win.
There aren’t that many Magpies fans alive who witnessed their side lift the FA Cup back in 1955. With that in mind, you can imagine their thirst for silverware.
Newcastle are not competing in Europe this season, which is something that could work in their favour if they are to go on a long run in the FA Cup.
With the way Eddie Howe’s men have been playing this year, you certainly wouldn’t put a cup win past them.
Man Utd
Winning the FA Cup last season arguably saved Erik ten Hag’s job. The Dutchman stayed in the post for a few more months before being sacked over a dreadful start to the season.
Ruben Amorim is closer to relegation than he is to challenging for a European spot and his focus is clearly on the short term. However, should the Red Devils progress deep into business end of the FA Cup, expect them to give it a good go.
While United have been woeful since the start of the season, we have seen performances – such as the one against Liverpool – which suggest that brighter days may be around the corner.
