Burnley vs Nottingham Forest tips and prediction: Forest to secure survival with a win
Nottingham Forest need just a point to mathematically secure Premier League survival on the final day when they face already relegated Burnley on Sunday (1600 BST).
For Nottingham Forest it has been a dramatic season on and off the pitch. Poor performances led to Steve Cooper's sacking, followed by a new manager bounce brought by Nuno Espirito Santo, but then came the hammer blow, the points deduction.
Despite being docked four points, Forest will be playing Premier League football for a third consecutive season barring a miracle at Kenilworth Road.
On the other hand Vincent Kompany and Burnley will be returning to the Championship at the first time of asking.
There was plenty of excitement in Lancashire on the eve of the season and with plenty of money spent, many pundits predicted a comfortable season for the Clarets. But they've been off the pace since minute one, bar a spring revival that saw them lose just one of eight.
Their home form, which was a staple of the Sean Dyche era, has been woeful, with their 4-1 defeat to Newcastle the latest in a catalogue of home hammerings.
The Clarets have lost five games this season by three or more goals at Turf Moor and have won just twice at home this term, as well as that they have been struggling in front of goal with their tally of 18 home goals being the lowest in the league.
However, their visitors have hardly been in sparkling form recently. Forest have lost four of their last six and only Luton and Sheffield United have a worse away record than Nuno's men.
One bright spark for Forest in recent weeks has been the form of Callum Hudson-Odoi. The winger's career had stagnated before his move to Forest, but we're beginning to see some of that early-career potential on the banks of the Trent.
The ex-Chelsea man has scored eight Premier League goals this season, with three of them coming in the last two and we wouldn't bet against him adding to that total here.
Forest's recent games have provided us with plenty of goals, with 21 scored in their last seven, an average of three per game, so over 2.5 goals is a good shout.
While the Clarets have improved in the latter stages of the season, we think that Forest will secure survival with a win over a despondant Burnley side.
Team news
Aaron Ramsey, Jordan Beyer, Nathan Redmond, Ameen Al-Dakhil and Luca Koleosho are all ruled out for the hosts.
Nuno Espirito Santo almost has a full squad to pick from, with Neco Williams being the only absentee.
