Leeds United and Sheffield United in battle to sign Swansea City left-back

Ryan Manning playing for Swansea City

Leeds United and Sheffield United are among the teams trying to sign free agent Ryan Manning, according to reports.

Yorkshire rivals Leeds United and Sheffield United have both been credited with an interest in left-back Ryan Manning, according to reports.
They'll face competition from the likes of Southampton who are now managed by ex-Swansea City boss Russell Martin.
Mannings, 27, opted not to sign an extension to keep him at the Liberty Stadium and is now available as a free agent.
The marauding Irish international made 43 Championship appearances last time, scoring five goals and providing 10 assists.
His style of play seems particularly suited to the Blades given how their full-backs are utilised in attack and his work rate makes him a modern manager's dream.
Sheffield United could be seen as the favourites with Premier League football on offer, although it's rumoured Luton Town are also interested.
Leeds United are moving towards loaning out their only natural left-backs and so are in desperate need of recruits.
The Whites could cough up the highest wages and might be able to convince him to join Daniel Farke's exciting project.
Martin and Manning know each other from their time at Swansea and a familiar face may help the player's thought process.
In addition to the aforementioned teams, it's expected as many as a dozen clubs are tracking the situation and would be open to a move.
