Next Wolves manager betting odds: Ex Leicester boss on stand-by as Gary O’Neil walks the tightrope
Gary O’Neil is firm favourite to become the next Premier League manager to face the sack. Question is, who would take over job at Wolves should the suits opt to pull the trigger?
Fifteen games into the Premier League season and Wolves find themselves in a lowly 19th position with a measly nine points to their name.
The club have won just two matches in the competition and have the worst defence record with 38 goals conceded.
O’Neil will remain in the dugout for Saturday’s crunch game with Ipswich Town. However, it’s unclear whether the club are giving the manager another chance or are they simply trying to buy some time as they seek out a replacement.
Whatever their motives, it’s clear that O’Neil won’t remain in his current job for long should the team’s woeful form continue.
Here, we take a look at five managers who could take the Molineux hot seat.
Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Steve Cooper – 5/1
Having recently lost his job at Leicester City, Steve Cooper unsurprisingly finds his spot at the top of the list.
Cooper’s stock rose exponentially after taking Nottingham Forest from the Championship relegation zone to the dream land of the Premier League.
His time at Leicester was far less memorable, though many did see his sacking as somewhat premature.
Nevertheless, Cooper has recent Premier League experience and would make for a solid appointment.
Sergio Conceicao – 6/1
Former FC Porto boss Sergio Conceicao also ranks highly on the list as he looks for a new managerial test.
The former Portugal international spent seven years in the Porto dugout, helping the side to three league titles and eight domestic cups.
Considering his lack of Premier League experience this could be seen as a risky move.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – 10/1
It’s been three years since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked from his role at Manchester United. Since then, the Norwegian has been linked with a number of jobs but is yet to make his return.
Priced at around the 10/1 mark, Solskjaer isn’t among the favourites for the job, but that could change with time.
Graham Potter – 12/1
Graham Potter has been linked with near enough every recent Premier League vacancy – including this one.
The 49-year-old endured a rather disastrous spell at Stamford Bridge where he won 12 of his 31 matches in charge.
Potter has been closely linked with West Ham in recent days and if he is to take one Premier League vacancy, the one in the capital seems more likely.
David Moyes – 14/1
Speaking of West Ham, David Moyes is another familiar name on the list.
While the Scot wouldn’t be the sexiest of appointments, he has experience of taking clubs out of relegation danger.
During his second stint at West Ham, Moyes steered the club to Premier League safety before winning a European trophy.
