Diego Simeone: Only Joao Felix knows why he wants to leave Atletico for Barcelona

Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has not spoken to Joao Felix about his future, after the player revealed he wants to sign for Barcelona.

Felix expressed this desire last month, but the matter doesn't seem to have progressed any further than that.

Simeone was reluctant to talk about Felix's situation, but made it clear that he has no problem with the forward's level of effort for Atleti.

"No, I am not going to talk more about Joao than what I have already said," said Simeone.

"What he is giving us or gave us is what was seen [in terms of effort]. I don't think he has held back any of what he was able to give. Just like I behaved with him trying to do my best to get something out of him.

"Possibly in his search he needs something more... and he and his agents and the club will decide."

Asked why Felix publicly expressed his desire to join Barcelona, Simeone added: "As I always comment, the best way to know is when it is his turn to speak. He will know the reasons."
