The 2022/23 Championship fixtures are out! Planet Sport looks at the major clashes on the opening day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and the final day.

Missing football? Fear not, next season's Championship fixtures have now been announced, giving us plenty to talk about as we anticipate another season of twists and turns.

Burnley will kick off the 2021/22 season away to Huddersfield on July 29, while Norwich travel to Cardiff and Watford kick off their campaign at home to Sheffield United.

Middlesbrough host West Brom in the first Saturday afternoon fixture of the season, while Sunderland's return to the Championship will be covered during their opening Sunday clash against Coventry City.
Below, Planet Sport outline all the opening day, Boxing Day, New Year's Day and final day fixtures for the upcoming season, with plenty of eye-catching matches for us to look forward to.

Opening weekend

The season kicks off with Vincent Kompany's Clarets travelling to Yorkshire to face Huddersfield, while Gareth Bale's first match at Cardiff City could come against Norwich City at home.

The full slate of 15:00 kick-offs on Boxing Day usually erupts with goals. Middlesbrough face newly-promoted Wigan Athletic at the Riverside, while West Brom face a hefty trip to Bristol.

Final day

Just like last season, the 2022/23 campaign is bound to have plenty lying on the final fixtures of the calendar.
Burnley end the season at home to Cardiff, while Watford and Norwich also end the season at home against Stoke and Blackpool respectively.
There's also potential for fireworks in Wales as Swansea take on West Brom, while League One champions face League One runners-up Rotherham United in what could be a crucial six-pointer.
