Aston Villa interested in Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams, release clause revealed
Aston Villa are considering a £30 million move for Leeds United and USA midfielder Tyler Adams, according to reports.
Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams is being linked with a transfer to Premier League club Aston Villa, according to reports.
The American international last featured for Leeds in a 2-2 draw against Brighton in March, before picking up a season-ending injury.
Adams featured 26 times for the Whites during the 2022/23 season and instantly became a firm fan favourite for his no-nonsense style.
Unconfirmed whispers on social media suggested he could be forced to remain in Yorkshire having suffered a serious hamstring injury.
However, an emerging report has linked the all-action midfielder is an option to bolster Unai Emery's squad.
Aston Villa are expected to step up their recruitment game with a European campaign on the horizon and the arrival of Monchi as sporting director.
Sevilla, under Monchi's stewardship, were regularly linked with a move for Adams, so it's unsurprising the link has remerged.
The report also suggests that he was on Villa's radar before his £20 million move to Elland Road last summer.
The American's stock has gone up considerably and with four years left on his contract, there are suggestions of a fee as big as £40 million.
However, it's believed Tyler Adams has a release clause in his contract, which would allow him to leave for £30 million.
