READY TO PARDON (3) ran below expectations last time after being in the firing line on the turn at this track, finishing fifth and beaten 2.5 lengths starting at 9/4. Has started two times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Worth noting Ryan Wiggins goes aboard. Meets a stronger field but he is up to the task. SPECIALTIE (1) showed good early dash and led throughout to score by 1.4 lengths last time out over 6½f at this track. Has a decent record at this track. Should be in the finish. DICKIN MEDAL (8) has been thereabouts recently, the latest result a fourth beaten 2 lengths at this track over 6½f. Should enjoy a nice run and will go well if he runs up to his best. STRATHCONA (5) turned in a fine effort to win by a nose at this course and distance last start to maintain his good form of late. Nicely placed to play a pivotal role.
