DIAMATTI (10) is back after a break of 12 weeks. Looking to emulate his win at Moe when returning from a lay-off last prep. Has recorded two wins when when resuming from a break. Has ability and should be right in the finish. SUPERIOR FORCE (9) last appeared when he finished sixth over 6½f at this track on November 26. One of the genuine hopes in the race. THE WAYFARER (3) was sent out at long odds last time but ran above expectations to finish second, beaten only a long neck, over 5½f at Ararat. Will be handy despite the tricky draw. One of the main contenders. MISS BRONDOLINO (13) finished a 1.75 lengths fourth on turf at Yarra Valley two starts ago. Much better last time though, following up with success on the dirt at Carrathool over 5f two weeks ago. Harder here but can make her presence felt again.
