FIRM AS A ROCK (5) closed off strongly last start to get up for second, beaten a neck, over 7½f at Yarra Valley. Will be winding up late. JAYZEAL (7) ran below expectations last start, finishing tenth and beaten 9 lengths at Kyneton over 1m1 1/2f. Nicely placed to turn things around.
