EASY JAY (6) started at 17/2 last time and ran below expectations, finishing seventh and beaten 3.5 lengths at Caulfield Heath over 6f. Finds the right race this time and can find winning form. MATTEI (9) performed above expectations last time over 6f at Ballarat, finishing a neck from the winner in second after starting at huge odds. Has a strong record at this journey with three wins and a placing from six starts and is right in this. DUNLOE (2) was in the market when resuming but could only manage fourth over 6f at Donald last start. Has never been out of the placings at this stage of the prep. Has the pace to be in a prominent position from the outset. Winning claims on best figures. WHITE BEAR (5) returns after a lay-off of five-and-a-half months. Looking to emulate his win at Benalla at the beginning of last prep. Has recorded two wins when when resuming from a break. Has switched to the Michael Moroney & Glen Thompson yard. One to consider.
