METRICAL (7) came from well back on cornering and hit the line strongly to score over 7f at Ballarat last time out. Expected to be in the finish again. GWAN SO (1) was a long way back last start but hit the line well to finish fifth, beaten 0.9 lengths, over 7f at Sandown-Hillside. Sure to be tough to hold out. LIDDER VALLEY (6) gave away a considerable start over 6½f at Sandown-Hillside last time before hitting the line well to finish fourth. Solid top-three hope. KOMACHI (9) missed the placings two runs back then didn't do any better last start when 3 lengths away in seventh over 6½f at Sandown-Hillside. Nicely placed to find some form.
