PORTER (8) produced a good run two starts back to finish second but failed to live up to market expectations last time when out of the placings at Cranbourne over 1m2f after he was prominent at the bend. Perfectly placed and is sure to prove tough to beat. CHICO SONADO (2) has been out of the placings in two runs since a break, the latest when tenth, beaten 4.5 lengths, over 7f at this track after he was in contention on the turn. First try at the trip but he strips fitter and shapes as a leading player. PLAYING IT SAFE (10) has not won for a long while. Last raced on May 2 when beaten 5 lengths into fifth at Warrnambool over 1m1/2f. Ideally placed and is sure to take plenty of stopping. GIMME GOLD (1) hasn't been far away lately, beaten 2 lengths at his most recent outing when third over 1m1/2f at Warrnambool. Drawn to advantage so he cannot be underestimated.
