GALLANT PRINCE (9) started this prep with a win two runs ago. Fair effort last time out when in the firing line on the corner before winding up in second over 6½f at Sandown-Hillside, beaten a nose. The engagement of Beau Mertens is noteworthy. It doesn't get any easier but on his best form he is right in contention. MODOWN (2) is close to breaking through after two consecutive placings, the latest coming when second over 1m in the Vobis Sires Guineas at Caulfield after he came from a long way back on straightening. Faces an easier assignment so he is likely to play a big role. Group 3 placegetter SCULLY (3) is a talented gelding who tackled tougher grade last time, finishing 5 lengths behind Skybird over 6f in the G2 Tobin Bronze Stakes at Morphettville. Nicely placed and can feature on his best form. FLYING FIZZ (8) will strip fitter for this after running below expectations when resuming at Warrnambool, finishing sixth and beaten 3 lengths over 6f. Well placed to atone.
