NOBLE EXCEPTION (3) proved too strong two runs ago at Hobart. Not as effective last time out when eighth over 1m at Launceston, beaten 7 lengths. Has a good record at this course and distance, including a win and two minor placings. Looks well placed so expect a better run this time. WELDBOROUGH (1) hit the frame when resuming two runs back at Launceston but couldn't back it up last start when tenth, beaten 7 lengths, over 1m1/4f at this track. Perfectly placed and is sure to be there at the finish. THE PRAYER (6) settled well back before finishing 4.5 lengths adrift in seventh over 1m at Launceston last time. Will appreciate a drop in grade. Capable of testing this field. O'REILLY MCLUKE (8) showed good early speed from the inside draw last time and led throughout to score by a head over 1m2 1/2f at Launceston. Should figure in the finish.
