MORDECAI (7) resumes. After filling a minor placing at his last appearance at toowoomba over 1m2 3/4f on august 31. Has ability and should be right in the finish. SOCIAL STAR (8) is building up to a win, most recently finishing half a length from the winner in second over 7½f at Kilcoy. Has a wide gate to overcome but going well enough to cope. UNION SPIRIT (3) missed the placings two starts back then ran a better race and finished 1.4 lengths away in fourth last time out over 7½f at Warwick. Worth noting Jace Mcmurray goes aboard. Nicely placed to feature in the finish. HAYSIRI (5) returned from a lay-off five-and-a-half weeks ago when he was beaten 5.5 lengths into tenth over 7f at Sunshine Coast. Strips fitter and can play a big role.
