Burton Albion vs Leicester City
There are always surprises in the first round, but the top Championship sides don't usually drop out if they're taking the competition seriously.
Leicester have a quality group of players waiting in the wings who will be keen to prove themselves after missing out on Saturday.
The hosts see this game sandwiched between tricky tests against Blackpool and Derby. If the Foxes move the ball half as well as Saturday, this could be a route.
Leeds United vs Shrewsbury Town
Despite sloppy defending and a slow start to life in the Championship, Leeds were electric in the second half on Sunday.
They produced enough danger to win two matches and unfortunately for Shrewsbury, they don't have many players to turn to for rotation.
Darko Gyabi, Joe Gelhardt, Sam Byram and Sonny Perkins could feature from the off, but it's just as likely we see Willy Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville and Luis Sinisterra.
Ipswich Town vs Bristol Rovers
Ipswich were top-class when beating Sunderland on Sunday. Town put on the perfect away performance and will be keen to kick-start their home campaign with a win.
Bristol Rovers are our dark horse for promotion from League One and they proved why when almost winning at Portsmouth, but this is a step up.
Joey Barton wants to take this competition seriously but has acknowledged rotation is necessary. Town have depth and goals and scoring early could open Rovers up.
