Serie A betting tip: Europa Conference finalists Fiorentina looking beyond Sassuolo clash
The last weekend of the Serie A season kicks off on Friday evening at Mapei Stadium, where Sassuolo host Fiorentina. Tipstrr football pundit Sergiu Baltuta takes a closer look.
This game has little at stake, although Fiorentina might still harbour hopes of qualifying for the Europa Conference League next season, should Juventus be excluded from UEFA competitions.
Even so it's more likely that Fiorentina's focus will be on this season's Conference League final, which will take place in Prague next Wednesday, where the Viola team will take on West Ham United.
In the reverse fixture, at Stadio Artemio Franchi, Fiorentina managed a 2-1 win, the only Viola win in their last six Serie A encounters (drew two, lost three).
Also it's worth remembering that Sassuolo have managed to find the net at least once in each of their previous 10 games against the team from Tuscany.
All things considered, the hosts will want to give their fans a good performance and a positive result to round off the campaign, especially against a team that might well have one eye on next week's trip to Prague.
Suggested bet: Sassuolo to win
Fiorentina will travel to Reggio-Emilia after three games without defeat in Serie A ( two home wins against Udinese and Roma, plus a draw at Torino), but they have not won any of their last four away games (drawn two, lost two).
That winless streak is particularly surprising considering that in the Conference League, they have strung consecutive away wins together.
The guests' head coach, Vincenzo Italiano, doesn't have squad problems, but is very likely that he will rest most of his key players for the Conference League final from next week.
