Brighton vs Bournemouth tips: Back Seagulls to bounce back from Euro disappointment

Brighton's Joao Pedro

Robbie Savage thinks Brighton will bounce back from their Europa League defeat in style when they face Bournemouth at the AMEX.

Bournemouth have a slight chance but it’s going to be very difficult. Brighton are fifth in the Premier League, scoring goals for fun.

Top scorers in the Premier League with 15 which is even more than Manchester City. On a great run of form.

I’m going to go with a Brighton win.

Robbie’s tip: Brighton 3-0 Bournemouth

Brighton vs Bournemouth team news

Lewis Dunk and Evan Ferguson will be hoping to return at the AMEX, while Tariq Lamptey, Danny Welbeck and Adam Lallana could also start.

Visitors Bournemouth are fresh with the exceptions of long-term absentees Alex Scott, Ryan Fredericks and Emiliano Marcondes, but new signing Tyler Adams could be available.

He’ll likely join ex-Leeds teammate Luis Sinisterra on the bench as Andoni Iraola is likely to opt for Justin Kluivert, Dominic Solanke and Dango Ouattara in attack.

Key stats

- Brighton recorded a first Premier League double over Bournemouth last season, winning 1-0 at home and 2-0 away.
- Surprisingly, Bournemouth have dominated the recent head-to-head meetings, winning eight and drawing four of the previous 16.
- Brighton are scoring an average of 2.40 goals per game so far this season while Bournemouth are conceding 1.60 per game.

Other suggested bets

AEK Athens got the better of Brighton on Thursday night and the Albion have a short turnaround to contend with before facing Bournemouth.

It’ll be a new experience for them in their first European season, but Roberto De Zerbi has plenty of players to call upon to freshen things up.

Bournemouth have tailored their approach to games so far this season but the high press may be the way to go if Brighton are on tired legs.

We’ve seen how difficult that can be to execute when Albion start zipping the passes around and it’s likely they’ll create plenty of opportunities on Sunday.

At the other end, it’s now 10 without a clean sheet for the Seagulls. Shutting out the opposition is hard given their style but a win to nil must be high on De Zerbi’s wishlist.

Brighton -1.5 Asian handicap

Brighton win to nil
