Luton vs West Ham tips: Back Jarrod Bowen to ruin Hatters’ Premier League homecoming

Jarrod Bowen

Planet Sport Bet ambassador Robbie Savage looks ahead to a Friday’s historic Premier League fixture for Luton Town.

Luton take on West Ham, who are flying at the top of the table. Can Luton stay up? That is the big question.

This is the first Premier League game at home for Luton Town. This is the first competitive fixture these two teams have played since March 1994.

Jarrod Bowen, he is doing so well for West Ham United. I think he’ll get a goal, but you know what? I think Luton will score.

The atmosphere at Kenilworth Road will be amazing. Fans can't wait to see Luton in the Premier League, but it's going to be a step too far. I'm going Luton Town one, West Ham two. Bowen to score.

Robbie’s Pick: Luton 1-2 West Ham

Team news

Luton will be without Gabriel Osho and Dan Potts as the pair remain on the sidelines with knee and ankle injuries.

The hosts could also miss Jordan Clark who remains a doubt.

West Ham, on the other hand, will be able to field their strongest possible side, with no injury news to report ahead of the weekend.

Key stats

- This is the first competitive meeting between Luton and West Ham since March 1994.

- On that occasion, Luton won the match 3-2 and progressed to the FA Cup semi-final

- West Ham are winless in their last four meetings with Luton

- West Ham’s last win over Luton came in their las top-flight meeting, with the Irons winning 1-0 in January 1992

- This is Luton’s first top-flight home game since a 2-0 win over Aston Villa in April 1992.

Other suggested bets to consider

The Hatters haven’t played top-flight football since the arrival of the Premier League, meaning the competition will arrive at Kenilworth Road for the very first time.

While Luton suffered two spankings in their opening two matches against Chelsea and Brighton – conceding seven goals – we are yet to see how Rob Edwards and his side cope on home soil.

Last season, Nottingham Forest were the new boys in the Premier League and if not for their home form, Steve Cooper would be preparing his side for weekend trips to Cardiff and Rotherham.

Home advantage could be crucial for Luton’s survival bid and Friday will offer an insight into what the Hatters are capable of when welcoming world class talent into their back garden.

While Town are more than capable of getting on the scoresheet, it’s hard to bet against West Ham who are absolutely flying.

With that in mind, our recommendation is to back a West Ham win and both teams to score.

West Ham to win

Both teams to score

Over 2.5 goals
