Euro 2024: Belgium vs Romania tips and predictions – Romelu Lukaku to make vital breakthrough

There might be just one colour separating the flags of Belgium and Romania but when it comes to the football, the two couldn’t be more dissimilar.

On one hand, you have a superstar packed Belgian side with stars like Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans and Leandro Trossard just to name a few.

Yet all those names combined produced the square root of nothing as the Red Devils fell to a shock 1-0 defeat against Slovakia.

On the other hand, you have the Romanians. Let’s face it, unless you’re one of those obsessed Football Manager players who has never invited someone home to meet their mother, you probably won’t be able to name two players in Romania’s squad.

Despite this, Edward Iordanescu’s side were able to kick off their Euro 2024 campaign with a stunning 3-0 victory over Ukraine.

The question now is simple, are Belgium capable of bouncing back from their embarrassing ordeal or will Romania hand out another butt whooping?

There are a couple of question marks surround the Belgian side. Thomas Meunier, for instance, missed the tournament opener with a thigh problem. Axel Witsel and Jan Vertonghen also didn’t feature.

Meanwhile, Romanian media is reporting that Valentin Mihaila is likely to feature after recovering from an illness.
