PSG vs AC Milan tips and predictions: Mbappe’s class to settle tight tussle in Paris

PSG have been Jekyll and Hyde for much of this season and the same can be said for their Champions League form.

Meanwhile, AC Milan have been equally dull in both of their matches, playing out 0-0 draws against Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund.

Newcastle are surprise leader, but the group is still very much open with the teams separated by a single point.

The Parisians look like a team that hasn’t found their rhythm this season, as they have been inconsistent in results and the way they played.

Luis Enrique’s side have won six of 11 in all competitions and they’ve yet to put string together more than two wins in a row.

One reason for their struggles could be the lack of a settled starting line-up, but a shortening injury list has seen their defensive fortunes improve in Ligue 1.

AC Milan have led the way in Serie A this season, conquering all but rivals Inter Milan, but their weekend defeat to Juventus saw them slip to second.

Despite dominating the game against Newcastle, Milan were unable to convert their chances. It was a similar story in the second half against Dortmund.

The return of Mike Maignan and Theo Hernandez means the visitors can field a full-strength defence, but their lack of goals is becoming a concern.

PSG’s 2-0 win against Dortmund was played in a similar fashion to the Italian’s matches in the group stage, but the difference on that night was some clinical finishing.

Kylian Mbappe has been carrying PSG this season and scored again last weekend.

He has eight goals in eight games in Ligue 1 and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him find the back of the net on Wednesday.

His opener set his side on their way in that 2-0 victory of Dortmund and with Milan misfiring, he has the quality to settle this tie.
