Brighton and Hove Albion and Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister is set to join Liverpool this summer transfer window after agreeing terms on a five-year contract with the Reds.
Argentina World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister is set to leave Brighton and Hove Albion to join Liverpool this summer.
The 24-year-old has reportedly agreed to join the Merseyside giants on a deal that will be valid until 2028, with the Reds set to pay the buyout clause in the next few days.
Further reports suggest that the Argentine will undergo a medical at Anfield within the next 48 hours.
Mac Allister had an exceptional 2022/23 season which included a FIFA World Cup winners medal following Argentina's penalty shootout victory against France in the final of the tournament in Qatar.
His exploits at the global showpiece in Asia last November and December attracted the attention of many clubs, with Manchester City and Chelsea reported as two of the teams who were after his signature for the 2023/24 season.
Despite the transfer rumours and losing manager (Graham Potter) to Chelsea, Alexis continued to perform consistently for the Seagulls, helping to catapult the side to their best finish in the Premier League table (6th) in the club's history and to qualify for their first European competition.
The Argentine played in 112 matches for Brighton, scoring 20 goals and providing nine assists for the club.
Meanwhile, the Seagulls are set to sign experienced midfielder James Milner, 37, during this summer, who is set to join as a free agent after not extending his contract with Liverpool which ends on 30 June.
