Watford re-sign Moussa Sissoko
Watford have brought midfielder Moussa Sissoko back to the club on a two-year contract.
The former France international joins on a free transfer following the expiry of his contract at Ligue 1 side Nantes.
Sissoko, 34, reunites with his former team-mate and now manager Tom Cleverley having played for the Hornets in their 2021-22 Premier League campaign.
“It’s a statement signing,” Cleverley told watfordfc.com.
“I think it shows you the ambition that myself and the club have got moving forward.
“He brings a real powerhouse to the middle of the pitch; he’s a consistent performer.”
Another club who have boosted their ranks is Millwall after confirming a long-term deal with defender Japhet Tanganga.
The 25-year-old is already a familiar face at the Den, having spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan from Tottenham, making 18 appearances for the Lions and scoring twice.
Tanganga became a free agent after being released by Spurs last month and now joins Neil Harris’ squad on a permanent basis – he will join up with his team-mates ahead of Millwall’s pre-season friendly with Gillingham on Saturday.
He will be suspended for first three matches of the new Championship campaign due to a red card picked up on the final day of last season at Swansea.
