Victor Boniface in contention to win Bundesliga Goal of the Month award
Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has been nominated for the Bundesliga's Goal of the Month award for September.
Among the numerous goals scored in the German top-flight division last month, ten exceptional ones have made the shortlist, including one of Boniface's.
The Super Eagles striker netted four Bundesliga goals in September, contributing to Bayer Leverkusen's unbeaten start to the season.
He scored a brace and provided an assist in a dominant 5-1 victory over Darmstadt, and he secured another double in a thrilling 4-1 win against FC Heidenheim.
However, it's his remarkable solo run and delicate chip during Bayer Leverkusen's September 2 triumph over Darmstadt that earned him a spot among the Bundesliga's top goals.
In this memorable moment, Boniface received a pass from Jeremie Frimpong near the halfway line, dribbled past two defenders, and executed a beautiful finish over Darmstadt's goalkeeper.
Boniface faces stiff competition for the Goal of the Month award, with nine other impressive goals in contention, including efforts from Xavi Simons, Benjamin Šeško, Julian Brandt, Serhou Guirassy, and Alejandro Grimaldo.
Boniface has enjoyed an outstanding start in Germany, scoring six goals in just six Bundesliga matches. Only Serhou Guirassy, Harry Kane, and Jonas Wind have scored more goals in the league.
Since his summer move from Belgium, Boniface has already claimed two individual awards, earning both the Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month titles for August.
