Thiago leaves Hansi Flick's Barcelona backroom coaching staff
Thiago Alcantara has left his role as one of Xavi's assistant coaches at Barcelona and has been replaced by Arnau Blanco, who was the coach of the U-16s.
Blanco has worked within the Barca youth system for the last 11 seasons and will take over Alcantara's role.
Despite earlier reports that Thiago would remain until September, the former midfielder stepped down on Friday morning.
Thiago, though his coaching tenure was brief, left a significant impact on the Barcelona players, particularly the younger talent, say the club.
"The Palau Solita i Plegamans coach, who has worked in the Blaugrana youth system for the last 11 seasons, will have the same functions as Thiago Alcantara," a short statement read.
"The club thus continues to invest in the talent and excellent training of its professionals and technicians."
