Spain are ‘very open’ and France ‘haven’t played well’, ex Prem star makes surprise Euros prediction
Former Premier League midfielder Robbie Savage has weighed in on the first European Championship semi-final clash between France and Spain.
Munich’s Allianz Arena will be the battleground as two of Europe’s footballing behemoths go head-to-head.
A spot in the Euro 2024 final will be on the line when Spain and France meet for the first time in almost three years.
In what has been a relatively dry tournament, Spain have been one of the few teams to offer a bit of quality.
France, on the other hand, have been unimpressive as they’ve trudged their way into the semi-finals without scoring a single goal from open play that wasn’t an own goal.
“Spain have probably been the best team in the tournament so far,” Savage told Planet Sport Bet.
“But very similar to England, a lot of people saying France aren't playing well, but again, they've made another semi-final.
“Their players, a bit like England's, you think they're going to click, they're going to produce a performance. I think this could be against Spain.
“Spain, at times can be very open. Dani Carvajal is missing, Pedri is missing. They've got to make two changes.
“France haven't played well but have got great tournament experience. They know how to win. So do Spain.
“But I just think on this occasion, I think the big hitters for France will be there. I think it will be a France vs England final.”
