Sevilla crisis worsens with an injury to defender Karim Rekik
Sevilla are struggling in La Liga having only won one of their nine games played, which leaves them a solitary point above the relegation zone sitting in 17th position.
A 2-0 loss against Atletico Madrid on Saturday at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium means that manager Julen Lopetegui's future is very much on the line with fans pressurising the club to replace him ASAP.
Things just don't get any easier for Atletico, with the news that defender Karim Rekik has been side-lined with a muscle strain.
According to a MuchoDeporte report, Rekik could be ruled out until after the World Cup, this all means that Sevilla could see him out for anywhere between three and six weeks.
On Wednesday, Sevilla face Borussia Dortmund in a Champions league match at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, but now that they will be minus left-back Rekik, coach Lopetegui will need to decide whether to use Alex Telles or young defenders Tanguy Nianzou and Kike Salas as a potential option.
