Rafael Benitez still in pole position for West Ham job despite lack of interest from club
Rafael Benitez is still favourite to become the next West Ham manager despite reports the club are not sniffing around the former Everton boss.
Benitez was favourite to take up the role if David Moyes was given his marching orders by the East London outfit.
Former Wolves boss Nuno Espiritio Santo and ex-Burnley boss Sean Dyche are also riding high in the bookies' market, even though the club have made no signals they are about to let Moyes go.
Brendan Rodgers, Mark Noble and Marcelo Bielsa are in the chasing pack with the bookies, while Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel are not far behind that trio.
Moyes is still expected to take charge for the relegation six-pointer at home to Everton on Saturday, and West Ham transfer expert ExWHUEmployee is not convinced that the club are lining up Benitez as a replacement.
"I have been told that the Rafa Benitez stories are "news to me" by one source and that there is nothing in it," he told hisĀ West Ham Way Patreon podcast.
"I have also spoke to a couple of playing staff who are completely unaware of the story too. David Moyes took training as normal today and the team prepared for Everton."
