Luis Enrique to target Bernardo Silva once he takes over at Paris Saint-Germain
PSG appear eager to sign Manchester City's Bernardo Silva, once Luis Enrique is in Paris.
Luis Enrique is will reportedly make a move for Manchester City star Bernardo Silva, once he's in charge at Paris Saint-Germain.
Current PSG manager Christophe Galtier is expected to be sacked soon, paving the way for Enrique's appointment. The former Spain boss was previously linked with Chelsea and Tottenham.
Enrique has given the green light to PSG's interest in Silva, a player they have long admired. Silva has expressed his desire to leave Manchester City this summer and has attracted attention from several clubs.
While Barcelona have been interested in Silva, they are unlikely to meet City's £75million asking price. A lucrative £80million per year offer from Saudi Arabia has also been made.
PSG see Silva as an ideal replacement for Lionel Messi and are keen to secure his signature. Silva has a good relationship with PSG advisor Luis Campos from their time together at Monaco.
However, Silva has made it clear that he will only consider a move to PSG once Galtier's replacement is appointed.
With Enrique set to take charge, PSG will intensify their pursuit of Silva, who has already made over 100 appearances in Ligue 1 and was part of Monaco's title-winning team in 2016/17.
While the Saudi offer remains an option, Silva has indicated that he prefers to stay in Europe for now.
Manchester City will not prevent Silva from leaving this summer but expect appropriate compensation for the talented midfielder, who still has two years left on his contract.
