Wales v Kazakhstan: World Cup qualifier prediction, tips and bet builder as Dragons eye statement win

World Cup qualification is on the agenda for Wales as Craig Bellamy’s side welcome Kazakhstan to Cardiff for their group stage opener (Sat, 1945 GMT).
Saturday night’s entertainment doesn’t get any better than watching Wales in qualifying action against the mighty Kazakhs. Okay, perhaps we are a little sarcastic, but this game is still better than being stuck watching Britain’s Got Talent.
The Dragons have actually been half-decent since Bellamy took the managerial hot seat, going six matches unbeaten.
This will be the first outing for Wales since their 4-1 demolition of Iceland – a result which sealed promotion to the elite group of the UEFA Nations League.
Welsh fans will be expecting a similar scoreline when an out-of-form Kazakh team arrive in Cardiff.
Here, we take a closer look at Saturday’s fixture and pick out some of the best bets along the way.
Good luck and please gamble responsibly.

Wales v Kazakhstan bet builder
First match goal under 30 minutes - 3/4
Stas Pokatilov 3+ total saves – 2/13
Wales -1 handicap
While Bellamy’s men have been in the ascendancy, Kazakhstan have gone in the complete opposite direction.
Back in 2023, the Hawks won six of eight games – a run which included a spectacular 3-2 win over Denmark at home.
Since then, Kazakhstan have had an absolute shocker, losing seven of their last eight competitive matches and failing to score a single goal during the entirety of their Nations League campaign.
The one advantage Kazakhstan have is the fact they have played two international friendlies in recent weeks. The bad news for the Hawks is that one of them was a 2-0 defeat to North Korea.
With these facts in the open, we’re backing Wales to do some serious damage on Saturday. Backing the Dragons in the handicap market is the way to go.
First match goal under 30 minutes
Kazakhstan have conceded a goal in the first half-hour in four of their last five competitive games.
The one team that failed to make it a clean sweep was Slovenia who got their breakthrough in the 55th minute away from home.
With Wales scoring first-half goals in four of their last five games, we’re backing Bellamy’s men to make a quick breakthrough. Preferably, before the 30 minute mark.
Goals in both halves
Wales proved they can be dangerous in attack when scoring four goals past Iceland last time out. When you couple that with Kazakhstan’s defensive fragility, it should provide Wales with numerous goalscoring opportunities.
Bearing all that in mind, we’re backing the hosts to give the home fans their money’s worth and score in both halves.
Stas Pokatilov 3+ total saves
With Wales expected to do most of the attacking, we’re backing Kazakhstan’s goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov to make +3 total saves.
While the odds aren’t good enough for a single bet, this should make for a nice little addition to your bet builder.
