Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp without Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota for Community Shield clash
This weekend, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has a chance to win the one piece of silverware which has so far eluded him at Anfield – the Community Shield.
The Reds will take on Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.
However, Klopp's men face a couple of injury worries ahead of the match, with goalkeeper Alisson Becker and forward Diogo Jota both out of action.
The duo have been injured throughout pre-season and will both miss the annual curtain raiser.
Klopp said at a press conference on Thursday: "Ali trained today more than the day before. So he will definitely be available for Fulham but Saturday no. Diogo will take a while."
Liverpool, who on the FA Cup last season, will be looking to test themselves against a side which pipped them to the league title by just one points last season.
Jürgen Klopp confirms that Alisson will miss the Community Shield against Man City.

What's more, Klopp will be looking to get his hands on the one piece of silverware he's yet to claim since arriving at Anfield.
He added: "We have played this 'final' a couple of times. It would be nice if we could win it. It's the last domestic cup we haven't won."
The German manager also admitted that due to the early start of the season, he hasn't been able to do as much work as he would have liked.
As a result, the Reds have scheduled an extra friendly after the Community Shield, and one after their Premier League opener against Fulham.
Klopp said: "We have to extend our pre-season, if you like, into the season. We have a friendly on Sunday with Strasbourg, then Fulham, then a game after that."
