Lionel Messi joined by ex Barcelona teammate at Inter Miami as MLS club sign World Cup winner
Lionel Messi will play alongside a familiar face at Inter Miami.
Inter Miami have secured the signing of Barcelona veteran Sergio Busquets.
The 34-year-old announced last May he would leave the La Liga champions following an 18-year spell at the club.
Busquets will now join former teammate Lionel Messi at Inter Miami after putting pen to paper on a deal with the MLS outfit.
Messi confirmed his move to Florida last month following his exit from Ligue 1 side PSG.
Busquets played alongside the Argentine for 13 seasons at the Camp Nou from 2008 to 2021.
Together, the duo won numerous Champions League, La Liga and Copa del Rey titles.
Busquets is one of the most accomplished players in Barcelona's history, making 722 appearances across all competitions.
In announcing his departure, Barcelona described the midfielder as "one of the best players ever to represent the club".
Busquets retired from international football last December. During his career, the player won the 2010 World Cup and 2012 European Championship with Spain.
