Leeds United transfer twist as Pascal Struijk becomes ‘priority’ target
Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk is a ‘priority’ target for Club Brugge, according to reports.
Leeds United's Pascal Struijk is the subject of speculation this morning as reports have linked Club Brugge with an ambitious move.
Struijk, 23, has already made 85 Premier League appearances since joining the Whites from Ajax during the 2019/20 season.
The versatile Dutchman spent large parts of last season operating out of position and fared well in trying circumstances.
A surprise report from Sacha Tavolieri of RMC Sport has revealed that Club Brugge considers him a 'priority' target.
The Belgian outfit is looking to replace Abakar Sylla as soon as possible with the Belgium Pro League season starting on Friday, July 28.
Interest could come as a surprise to Leeds who would not have expected to lose Struijk and could look to price Brugge out of a move.
It's fair to speculate a deal for Struijk could cost at least £15 million and would leave Daniel Farke even shorter at the back.
Further complicating matters is the fact Leeds were able to tie the defensive prospect down to a five-year contract just seven months ago.
However, the report also suggests that talks are already ongoing between the player's representatives and Club Brugge.
The Belgians finished fourth in the table last season and are currently going well in their Europa Conference League qualifiers.
