Leeds United transfer news: Ethan Ampadu, Emmanuel Dennis and Lewis O’Brien

Leeds United are close to landing Ethan Ampadu as the club's first senior signing of the summer, according to reports.

Leeds United are stuck in limbo while they await EFL takeover approval but that hasn't stopped the Whites from being linked with a number of transfers.

Emmanuel Dennis has been doing the rounds over the weekend with some speculation that the Nigerian forward could swap Forest for Leeds.

Those reports are, like most, unconfirmed. Dennis has struggled for game time at the City ground, scoring two goals and providing two assists in 19 starts.
There's little doubt the forward would be a major threat in the Championship as his 10 goals and six assists for Watford in the 2021-22 Premier League demonstrate.
It's thought that Forest are more than happy to sell this summer but they'll be looking to recoup as much of the £20 million they paid as possible.
Sam Sturridge was a rumoured target but we understand it's likely talks weren't held as a move to MLS side Nashville SC has been his preferred option for some time.

Ethan Ampadu is the latest name to be linked with a move to Elland Road, according to reports.

The news broke on Twitter late on Sunday with some reputable outlets picking up on the news on Monday morning.

The suggestion is that Leeds have tabled a £12 million bid for his services but with talks said to be at an advanced stage, according to journalists Phil Hay and Graham Smyth.

Ampadu is a talented Wales international who has made over 100 appearances across the Premier League, Bundesliga and Serie A since 2017, despite only being 22 years old.

Lewis O'Brien is a name that no one is really reporting on yet, but we're sure that speculation involving the midfielder is right around the corner.

After an extremely successful loan spell at DC United, O'Brien has now returned to Nottingham Forest where is surplus to requirements.
Forest needs to trim their extremely bloated squad and he is one of a number of players expected to leave this month.

The young Englishman formed a formidable partnership with ex-Whites hero Mateusz Klich during his time under Wayne Rooney, stabilising the midfield and improving their form.

There's no question he'd be a solid addition to any Championship team and we know that Leeds have made approaches to sign him in the past when he was at Huddersfield.

O'Brien will be the focus of intense speculation in the coming weeks and with a move to a Premier League club unlikely, we're willing to bet Leeds will be linked, but they'd face stiff competition from DC United who'd like to take him permanently.
