Leeds United increasingly hopeful they’ll retain most dangerous player

Luis Sinisterra of Leeds United scores

Leeds United have been handed a boost in their mission to convince Luis Sinisterra to remain at Elland Road, according to reports.

Leeds United are increasingly confident they can retain the services of Colombian winger Luis Sinisterra despite relegation to the Championship.
Sinisterra, 24, joined the Whites for £21 million at the start of last season and went on to score five goals in 19 appearances.
The diminutive speedster was massively hampered by injuries and rarely managed a regular run in the team, but his quality was clear.
His 37-goal contributions in a single season for Feyenoord made him one of the hottest prospects in European football.
He even produced six goals and four assists en route to the UEFA Europa Conference League final defeat to Roma.
Even the most ardent Leeds supporter would have accepted that players of this quality don't play Championship football and a departure looked likely.

However, with just three weeks until the season, Leeds are yet to receive an official approach despite rumoured interest from AC Milan.

Those close to the club are reporting that the Elland Road chiefs are being ambitious in their efforts to retain Tyler Adams, Luis Sinisterra and Willy Gnonto.

While selling valuable assets will raise funds and take care of future FFP challenges once parachute payments cease, United are financially sound.
According to the latest reports, the club are growing hopeful they can successfully dangle the carrot that he either fires them back to the Premier League or departs in 12 months.

The player himself has not submitted a transfer request and remains happy in England just weeks after throwing a Leeds United themed birthday bash.

The explosive winger missed more than half of Leeds' games last season but looked slick in his link-up play with Georginio Rutter against Manchester United in Norway.
