Hasan Salihamidzic says Bayern Munich will bounce back after the international break

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is confident that the German giants will grow stronger after the international break.

The Bavarians have endured a disappointing start to their 2022/23 Bundesliga campaign as they find themselves down in fifth position after seven games.

This is an unusual case of affairs for Bayern as they have traditionally dominated the Bundesliga. They have won 10 league titles in a row.

Die Roten were dealt a massive blow just before the international break as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat at Augsburg on 17 September, which saw them tumble down the standings.

Despite the underwhelming results, Salihamidzic remains upbeat about the club's chances of turning things around and reviving their clinical, dominant style of play.
"For me, there is no question that in this extraordinarily demanding season with a world championship in the middle, only those teams have a chance of winning the title that find a rhythm as an entire squad group, that develop their rotation style and push themselves as a unit," Salihamidzic told Bild.
"Our players have quality, mentality and character, they want and will show that.
"We will appear differently after the international break. And I expect that too. Physical intensity, greed and the willingness to push yourself to the limit in every game are the prerequisites for success.
"We also need a much better, more focused exploitation of opportunities."
Bayern will host Bayer Leverkusen in their next league game on Friday.
