Sheffield United vs Leeds: Predictions, tips and free bet builder as Championship's top two face off

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder

The Championship's top two meet on Monday night as Leeds and Sheffield United look to land a significant blow in the race for the Premier League (2000 GMT).

There's usually a bit of needle in this Yorkshire rivalry, but with the stakes even higher, this promises to be an enthralling clash when these two Championship titans face off.

The current state of play sees Leeds top of the tree with 72 points, while the Blades are just two points behind.

A win for Daniel Farke's troops would see them extend the gap to third place Burnley to seven points, while a victory for Chris Wilder's Blades would see them go top, leapfrogging their opponents in the process.

It promises to be an entertaining evening at Bramall Lane and you can find our predictions for the crunch clash below.

Sheffield United vs Leeds bet builder

Leeds to win- 17/20

Joel Piroe anytime goalscorer- 17/10

Both teams to score- 17/20

Over 10.5 match corners- 19/20

Leeds to win

Bramall Lane has been a difficult trip for many teams in the Championship this season. The Blades have lost just twice on home turf, but those have come in the last couple of months, a 3-0 defeat to Hull in January and a 2-0 defeat to Burnley on Boxing Day.

Leeds have finally started to hit top gear in the league, with the Whites on a seven-match winning run.

Last time out they edged out Sunderland after falling behind, which was a performance typical of potential champions, and they have an excellent recent record against the Blades, winning four of their last five.

They have been scoring for fun recently and we think Leeds will continue their winning run in Sheffield on Monday night.

Joel Piroe to score anytime

Every promotion-winning Championship side needs a good talisman and Leeds have one in the form of Piroe.

The Dutch striker has been a regular performer at this level for a number of years now and he already has 14 goals to his name this season and is just one behind Norwich's Borja Sainz in the race for the golden boot.

Piroe has scored four in his last four and we think the 25-year-old will continue that good run with a goal at Bramall Lane.

Both teams to score

Leeds have been flying lately, scoring 20 goals in their last seven league games, an average of nearly three per game.

However, Wilder's Blades rarely fail to find the target, they've only failed to score once in their last 10 games and that was the shock 3-0 defeat top strugglers Hull.

Both teams to score looks to be a wise addition to your bet builder.

Over 10.5 match corners

We think that both sides will go for it, given that a win would be a hammer blow in this promotion race.

Games involving both of these sides have averaged over 10.5 corners across the season and they also see it as a good route to goal, with Leeds' winner last week resulting from a corner.
