Graham Potter new favourite for Leicester job after Chelsea sacking

Graham Potter, Chelsea manager

Former Brighton and Chelsea boss Graham Potter has leapt to the head of the queue for the vacant Leicester City manager's role.

Bookies have already installed Potter as the new odds-on favourite less than 24-hours after he was fired by Chelsea.

Success with Brighton earned Potter the nod to replace Thomas Tuchel and he was unbeaten in his first nine games.
A 4-1 hammering by his former club, though, ended that run emphatically and started a downward spiral.
Potter was sacked after a run of only three wins in 11 games in all competitions and following a 2-0 Premier League defeat at home to Aston Villa.

Leicester, who are under the caretaker management of first-team coaches Adam Sadler and Mike Stowell after sacking Brendan Rodgers on Sunday, won the FA Cup two years ago and were in Europe last season but now face a major fight to remain in the division.

While Potter may wish to take a bit of time off, the Foxes would prove a tempting proposition.
Rafa Benitez has drifted slightly in the running at a best-priced 6/1, while former Southampton boss Ralph Hassenhutl has pushed out to 12/1.
Blackburn manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has crept into the running as high as 16/1 with some bookies, but also as low as 7/1 with others.

PSV boss Ruud van Nistelrooy is at 16/1 with Steven Gerrard, while Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, who seemingly could pick from most of the Premier League clubs in the summer, is priced between 8/1 and 16/1.
