Galatasaray finalise permanent signing of Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea
Galatasaray have signed Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech on a permanent basis from Chelsea following a successful loan spell at the Turkish club.
Ziyech joined Chelsea from Ajax in July 2020 but struggled to become a regular starter at Stamford Bridge.
In his first season with the London club, he helped win the UEFA Champions League, scoring twice in 10 appearances, although he was an unused substitute in the final against Manchester City.
The 31-year-old winger was loaned to Galatasaray for the 2023-24 season after being informed that he was not part of Mauricio Pochettino's future plans. In Turkey, he had a solid season, netting six goals and providing three assists in 18 Super Lig matches.
Ziyech has now secured a permanent move to Rams Park, signing a one-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months.
"Hakim Ziyech has completed a permanent transfer to Galatasaray," Chelsea announced on their official website. "We thank Hakim for his contributions during his time at Chelsea and wish him the best in his future endeavors."
A statement from the Turkish champions read: "Professional football player Hakim Ziyech's final transfer was completed free of charge as the conditions for the free purchase option in the temporary transfer contract were met.
"The player will receive a net seasonal wage of 2,850,000 euros for the 2024-2025 season. Additionally, if the conditional extension option is exercised, the player will receive a net seasonal salary of 2,850,000 euros for the 2025-2026 season."
