The reported deal involves a base fee of €4-5 million, with potential bonuses to further augment the fee in the future.
The forward, who spent the past year and a half on loan at Eintracht, is set to sign a long-term contract with the club, extending until 2028. Displaying his skills in 33 appearances across various competitions last season, the forward scored once and provided three assists.
After being loaned from BVB to Frankfurt in January 2022, the 21-year-old Knauff will now make a permanent move to Die Adler. The agreement was reached by all parties on Friday.
Having debuted in the Bundesliga for the BVB first team in 2021 at the age of 19, Knauff accumulated a total of nine top-flight appearances for the Black & Yellows, contributing with one goal and one assist.
BVB's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, confirmed the transfer on the club website, stating, "Ansgar emerged through our youth performance centre and took his initial steps in professional football with us. The loan has proven beneficial for his development, as he gained valuable playing time.
"We express our gratitude to Ansgar for his time at BVB and wish him the very best for his future endeavours."
