Conor Gallagher sets sights on La Liga glory at Atletico Madrid
Conor Gallagher spoke to Atletico Madrid's channels after his transfer from Chelsea, receiving a warm welcome from fans at the Metropolitano.
The English midfielder outlined his ambitions for the season, revealed conversations with Kieran Trippier and Cesar Azpilicueta, and defined his playing style.
At the Metropolitano, Gallagher, 24, expressed his awe: "It's an incredible stadium. It's my first time here, and it's simply enormous. I'm even more excited to step out and play."
Discussing his playing attributes, Gallagher said, "I try to do a bit of everything on the pitch. I always work as hard as I can, giving my all. I aim to create goal-scoring opportunities and assist the team defensively.
"So, as I mentioned, I try to contribute in all areas."
On his conversations with Trippier, Gallagher remarked, "Kieran Trippier is a fantastic player and an even better person. I spoke with him a lot about the club, and he had nothing but positive things to say.
"He praised the club, the fans, and the city, which really helped me in making my decision."
Gallagher's goals with Atletico are clear: "I want to contribute as much as possible to the club. The main goal is to win the title. I'm here to win trophies.
"Atletico is a huge club with a history of success, and I hope we can add more silverware together."
Regarding his discussions with Azpilicueta, Gallagher added, "I have a good relationship with Azpi. I spoke with him, and he also shared positive views about the club and why I should join."
