Chelsea eyeing swap deal for Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana
Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a swap deal in which they would get goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan in exchange for Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Chelsea are reportedly looking to bring in goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter Milan in exchange for Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly.
The Blues have had their fair share of troubles in the goalkeeping department with neither Edouard Mendy or Kepa Arrizabalaga being able to meet expectations.
It could mean that Lukaku, who spent the season on loan at Inter, would have his stay in the Italian capital made permanent. The former Everton and Manchester United striker scored ten goals in 25 matches for the Nerrazzuri in the past season. It was his second spell at Inter after netting 47 times in 72 matches between 2019 and 2021.
Koulibaly, meanwhile, had a disappointing first season in the Premier League after arriving from Napoli for £33 million, losing his starting place for the second half of the season as the Senegal international appeared to struggle to get up to speed with the fast pace of the English top-flight.
Meanwhile, Cameroon international shot-stopper Onana enjoyed a superb first campaign in Italy as an instrumental figure in Inter finishing as Champions League runners-up. Prior to joining at the beginning of the campaign, the 27-year-old made 148 appearances for Ajax, where he was a colossus between the sticks.
Inter have reportedly set Onana's asking price at £55m.
